Stefania Stafutti, Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Turin in Italy, led a delegation on an academic exchange at Shandong University (SDU) from April 7 to 8. Ren Youqun, Party Secretary of SDU, met with the delegation during the visit.
Ren called for extensive cooperation between SDU and the University of Turin in fields such as literature, international Chinese language education, and archaeology, as well as the cultivation of top-tier international talent.
He also underlined the need for both sides to strengthen cultural exchanges between China and Italy, while working together to promote Sino-Italian friendship and cooperation, as well as mutual learning between Eastern and Western civilizations.
Stafutti provided a briefing on the Confucius Institute and related disciplines at her university and other Italian universities. She expressed a willingness to actively promote cooperation between Italian universities and SDU, as well as to foster international collaboration in various fields, such as academic research and student exchanges.
