Li Shucai, President of Shandong University (SDU), met on April 7 with a delegation led by Ki Jeong Lee, President of Hanyang University in South Korea. The two sides discussed ways to deepen educational collaboration and promote industry-academia-research innovation.
During the meeting, Li expressed hope that both universities would further enhance collaboration, engage in high-level international exchanges, nurture top-tier innovative talent, share industry-academia-research outcomes, and work together to inject new momentum into the educational and socioeconomic development of China and South Korea.
Lee said that both universities should leverage their strengths in industry, academia and research, while utilizing international innovation and entrepreneurship events and global leadership training programs to support the growth of young talent from both sides, and contribute to the innovative development of global higher education.
The two universities signed cooperation agreements on talent exchanges and entrepreneurship support. They also launched the China-South Korea Future Talent Center and the China-ROK Youth Entrepreneurship Center.
Since the signing of a cooperation agreement and student exchange agreement in 2006, Shandong University and Hanyang University have fostered deep collaboration in areas such as science, engineering, Northeast Asian studies, and industry-academia-research partnerships.
