Shandong University (SDU) and Honeywell (China) Co., Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding on university-industry cooperation in Shanghai on April 10, focusing on cultivating engineering talent, translating scientific research into practical applications, and building a low-carbon, smart campus.
Ren Youqun, Party Secretary of Shandong University, and Yu Feng, President of Honeywell attended the MOU signing ceremony and participated in a meeting.
During the meeting, Ren expressed hope that both sides would leverage their respective strengths to align more precisely with development needs and jointly explore institutional mechanisms for the in-depth integration of industry, academia and research.
He called on both sides to work together to cultivate high-quality talent with outstanding engineering innovation capabilities and vigorously promote the translation of joint research projects into industrial applications to help drive industrial upgrading and transformation and foster new quality productive forces.
Yu underlined the need for both sides to focus on areas such as automated control and sustainable energy development for cooperation, develop better academia-industry-research cooperation models, and jointly create model application scenarios and successful cases in the green and low-carbon sector.
