The Biomedical Engineering School of Shandong University held a seminar on industry-academia-research collaboration at the university's Baotuquan Campus on April 9.
The seminar focused on three key strategic tasks: achieving breakthroughs in scientific research, addressing clinical needs through research and innovation, and cultivating new quality productive forces.
Yi Fan, Vice-President of Shandong University and the university's Cheeloo College of Medicine, said in his speech that the Biomedical Engineering School is leveraging the college's medical resources to develop a collaborative innovation hub that bridges basic research, clinical needs, and industrial transformation.
Huang Bo, Director of the Jinan Science and Technology Bureau, emphasized that the Biomedical Engineering School of Shandong University is a key platform for integrating local technologies with university research.
He added that local authorities will increase support for medical projects through enhanced policies, talent initiatives, and platform development.
Representatives from leading research teams shared the latest advancements in cutting-edge fields such as nanomedicine, laser medicine, and micro-nano biosensors, along with their future research plans.
Representatives from major medical companies, including Shenzhen-based Mindray, Linyi-based Lunan Pharmaceutical Group, and Weihai-based Wego Group, engaged in discussions on potential areas of cooperation and key strategies for technology commercialization.
Founded in December 2024, the Biomedical Engineering School of Shandong University is dedicated to building an interdisciplinary research platform and aims to become an internationally recognized hub for biomedical engineering research.
