Shandong University and China Meheco Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement on April 11.
Ren Youqun, Party Secretary of Shandong University, said at the signing ceremony that Shandong University and China Meheco are cooperating on drug research and development.
He expressed hope that both sides will focus on serving the country's major strategies as well as economic and social development, while also leveraging their respective strengths to deepen cooperation in drug research and development, intelligent manufacturing, and talent cultivation.
Ren emphasized the need to concentrate efforts on developing core technology in the pharmaceutical field in order to build a healthier China.
Yang Guang, Chairman of China Meheco, said that both parties will seize this cooperation opportunity to jointly advance research in modern Chinese medicine and the development of innovative drugs
He highlighted the importance of collaboratively nurturing top-tier innovative talent, establishing a benchmark for industry-academia-research collaboration, and cultivating new quality productive forces in the pharmaceutical sector to support the sustainable development of the national healthcare industry.
Listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, China Meheco is a holding company under China General Technology (Group) Holding Co Ltd (Genertec), one of China's centrally administered state-owned enterprises. It focuses on the medical industry, pharmaceuticals, and international trade.
