A music exchange event was held at Shandong University's Weihai campus from July 6 to 8 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of China-EU diplomatic relations.
Ren Youqun, Party Secretary of Shandong University, highlighted in a keynote speech at the event that Shandong University has carried out substantial cooperation with over 100 European universities and research institutions in fields such as mathematics, archaeology, and sinology in recent years.
He noted that the university will use the 50th anniversary of China-EU diplomatic relations as an opportunity to broaden cultural exchange and create distinctive programs for dialogue with Europe, contributing to global cultural prosperity.
Li Ling, President of the China-Europe Association for Humanistic Exchanges, expressed hopes of deepening cooperation with Shandong University, creating more opportunities for young artists, and promoting traditional Chinese culture around the globe.
An art communication base was jointly unveiled by Shandong University and the China-Europe Association for Humanistic Exchanges, serving as a new platform for cultural and artistic exchange between China and Europe.
During the event, activities such as masterclasses, themed lectures, and music and dance performances were also held. Artists and musicians from countries including France, Belgium, and Australia engaged in in-depth exchanges with Shandong University faculty and students on topics such as professional techniques, artistic theory, and cross-cultural aesthetics.
