Shandong University (SDU) President Li Shucai met with the University of Waikato Vice-Chancellor Neil Quigley at the SDU's Weihai campus on Sept 20, to sign a landmark cooperation agreement. The signing officially established the new SDU-UoW International Business School.
President Li expressed his enthusiasm, highlighting the strong foundation of collaboration between the two institutions. He described the joint business school as a crucial means of integrating high-quality educational resources and innovating talent cultivation models.
He voiced his hope that the partnership will create a new standard for international business education, pioneer new channels for academic and research exchange, and set an exemplary model for high-quality Sino-foreign education. This new school, he noted, will contribute significantly to educational, cultural, and economicexchangesbetween China and New Zealand.
Quigley introduced the University of Waikato and reflected on the history of their partnership. He stated that the signing of the agreement is highly significant for both universities and expressed hope that it will provide more opportunities for academic and cultural interaction between students and faculty. He looks forward to expanding the collaboration into a wide range of new areas, injecting new momentum into higher education cooperation between the two countries.
Following their remarks, Li Shucai and Neil Quigley signed the formal agreement on the new school and its official charter, marking a new chapter of partnership.
