Shandong University (SDU) hosted the 2nd Hisense Cup Campus Marathon at its Qingdao campus on Oct 25. Over 2,500 participants, including students, faculty, and alumni from all campuses, gathered to run in celebration of health and spirit.
The event commenced after a collective warm-up, during which instructors led participants through dynamic stretching, setting an enthusiastic tone for the race.
The marathon officially started from Qiuxin Road, featuring three distances: the Half Marathon, the Quarter Marathon, and a Health Run (approximately 5 km). Runners paced through key campus landmarks, including the SDU museum, gymnasium, and Xiyuan Canteen, using their steps to capture the campus's scenic beauty.
Throughout the course, participants demonstrated unwavering determination. Even as they became soaked with sweat and their breathing grew heavy, runners maintained their forward momentum. Crossing the finish line, exhaustion quickly gave way to triumphant smiles, embodying the spirit that every stride was an act of perseverance and self-transcendence.
To ensure the event's success, water, beverages, and energy stations were strategically positioned along the route. Comprehensive support was provided by the medical, volunteer, referee, and security teams, ensuring a safe and seamless experience for all participants. The marathon underscored SDU's commitment to fitness and community engagement.
