On Dec 12, the Shandong University-Hisense Optoelectronic Research Institute was officially inaugurated at SDU's Qingdao campus. The unveiling ceremony featured the formal signing of the co-construction agreement, where officials outlined a strategic development plan to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial application.
SDU President Li Shucai described the institute as a practical example of integrating high-quality resources and enhancing industry-university-research collaboration. He emphasized the university's commitment to providing strong resource support and promoting cross-disciplinary integration to build a collaborative innovation system. By pursuing an "integrated development path", the institute aims to become a leader in high-level talent cultivation and technological breakthroughs, contributing to China's self-reliance in science and technology.
In line with this vision, Hisense Group Chairman Jia Shaoqian described the partnership as a proactive response to the national innovation-driven development strategy. He expressed high hopes for the institute to train elite professionals and yield groundbreaking technical achievements in the display field. The initiative aims to establish a "Qingdao Innovation Model" for national strategic technology.
