On March 19, Vice-President Yi Fan of Shandong University (SDU) welcomed a delegation from the University of Seville, led by Vice-President Julián Martínez. The visit resulted in a comprehensive cooperation agreement, marking a significant milestone in the academic partnership between the two institutions.
During the meeting, Yi reviewed the successful collaboration in areas such as medicine and mathematics. He expressed a desire to further deepen joint talent cultivation and synchronize scientific research in superior disciplines. He also emphasized the use of international Chinese language education as a strategic platform to enhance bilateral ties.
Echoing these sentiments, Martínez stated that the University of Seville values its strategic partnership with SDU. He noted that the new memorandum will add fresh momentum to their efforts in education, scientific research, cultural exchange and other fields.
The visit provided the delegation with an in-depth look at SDU's long-standing heritage and academic prowess. The group toured the University History Museum, the Art Museum, and the Center for Research and Experience of Traditional Chinese Culture at SDU.
Beyond cultural appreciation, the delegation engaged in in-depth sessions with several academic units, including the College of International Education, School of Mathematics, School of Electrical Engineering, and School of Software.
These in-depth discussions laid the groundwork for concrete projects and interdisciplinary initiatives, paving the way for a future of shared innovation and global academic synergy between the two sides.
