A high-level delegation from Shandong University (SDU), led by Vice-President, Cao Xianqiang, recently completed a strategic visit to South Korea to deepen educational and humanistic exchanges and cooperation. The mission covered prominent academic institutions and diplomatic channels, marking a significant step in SDU's regional engagement strategy.
At Inha University, the two institutions reaffirmed their commitment to humanistic exchange with the launch of the China-South Korea Mutual Civilization Appreciation Research Center. This new hub is designed to facilitate the sharing of elite academic resources and foster collaborative innovation, establishing a multi-layered framework for international cooperation.
During talks at Seoul National University, both parties reached a consensus on expanding partnerships in humanities, social sciences and stomatology. A formal agreement was signed between SDU's School of Foreign Languages and Literature and College of Humanities at Seoul National University to build cross-cultural platforms for cultivating versatile talents with global perspectives.
The delegation also engaged with the Chey Institute for Advanced Studies to finalize preparations for the fifth Shandong Forum. Both sides aim to elevate the forum's influence by blending East Asian geopolitical insights with interdisciplinary research, creating a premier international platform for scholarly dialogue.
To conclude the visit, the delegation also paid a courtesy call to the Chinese Embassy in South Korea to discuss the future of international student cultivation and broader diplomacy in the field of education.
This visit strengthened the ties that bind the two nations' intellectual communities, paving the way for sustained regional development and mutual understanding.
