Shandong University (SDU) unveiled two self-developed intelligent systems at the 2026 World Digital Education Conference and the accompanying Global Digital Education Achievement Exhibition from May 11 to 13 in Hangzhou, showing its commitment to leveraging digital intelligence for talent cultivation.
One of the highlights was theIntelligent Shield Equipped with "Five Senses and One Brain", designed to handle complex geological conditions in tunnel construction. The system integrates multi-source sensing and intelligent decision-making across geology, tunneling machinery, and engineering structures, addressing the challenges of large-scale and high-risk underground projects. It has been applied in more than 40 major engineering projects across 17 cities in China and abroad.
SDU also showcased itsHigh-definition Digital Human (HD Digihuman) Virtual Anatomy Table. Based on high-precision human cross-sectional data and a self-developed rendering engine, the table allows for real-time visualization of highly detailed anatomical structures. It supports multi-angle dissection, endoscopic visualization, and surgical pathway simulation, while integrating organ-based teaching and interactive exercises to enhance interdisciplinary medical learning. It has been adopted by nearly 500 medical colleges in China and more than 60 countries and regions, becoming a widely recognized tool in digital medical education.
In recent years, SDU has advanced China's national strategy for digital education by exploring innovative applications of artificial intelligence. Through continuous efforts, it has developed a distinct smart education model that supports high-quality talent cultivation and innovation.
