Representatives from Nanjing University Press and the Taylor & Francis Group recently visited the Center for Zhouyi & Ancient Chinese Philosophy of Shandong University (SDU) to discuss international publishing initiatives, academic cooperation and new ways to make Chinese research on the Zhouyi (Book of Changes) more accessible to scholars around the world.

Zhouyi is one of China's most ancient classics and has profoundly influenced Chinese philosophy and traditional culture, particularly Confucian and Daoist thoughts.

SDU researchers introduced the center's work in Zhouyi-related texts, the history and philosophy of Zhouyi studies, and interactions between Confucian and Daoist thoughts. Tracing its roots to a Zhouyi research unit established in 1984, the center has developed into an important platform for research into the Zhouyi and ancient Chinese philosophy.

The center is also developing an academic database to digitize classical texts, integrate research resources and improve access to scholarly materials.

Nanjing University Press is an academic publisher affiliated with Nanjing University, while Taylor & Francis is a global publisher of academic books and journals. Their publishing networks provide a practical basis for bringing Zhouyi-related work to a wider international audience.

Participants explored possible cooperation opportunities on academic monographs and specialized publications, translation and international release of Chinese research outputs, digital-resources sharing, and co-organizationof international academic events.

They expressed interest in using their respective platforms to support the international dissemination of high-quality Chinese academic research.

The meeting identified several areas for future cooperation, connecting SDU's Zhouyi research with international publishing, digital resources, and academic exchange.
