Biography:
Dr. Samir Kumar Khanal is Professor in the Department of Molecular Biosciences and Bioengineering at University of Hawai'i at Mānoa, Associate Editor of Bioresource Technology (IF: 6.669). His research works focus on biological approaches to recovering resources (e.g., energy, chemicals, and food/feed), with simultaneous remediation of wastes (water), and fate, transport and degradation of pharmaceutical compounds in engineered biological systems. He has published over 90 SCI papers and delivered over 100 technical presentations as invited/keynote speaker at both national and international venues, with total citation number over 6700 and H-index of 40. He published 16 book chapters, 2 reference books (1 bestseller), 4 edited books (1 bestseller), 1 conference proceedings, 1 report and 1 manual. Four of his refereed papers were the most downloaded papers and two papers were the most cited. His anaerobic book is considered a bible for someone who wants to pursue research in anaerobic field.
