Biography:

Eric Van Cappellen obtained his Ph.D. in 1986 in Antwerp, Belgium in the lab of Prof. Amelinckx (now known as EMAT). The subject of his thesis was "Quantitative EDX in (Scanning) Transmission Electron Microscopy After several academic positions in Belgium, Congo, Germany and France, he joined Philips Electron Optics which later became FEI Company in 1993.

FEI was acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2016 and Eric is now a proud a member of the Materials and Structural Analysis Division (MSD) as senior business development manager for global high-end TEM market. Eric has deep knowledge and many years' experience on advanced TEM techniques. He works closely with many professors and investigators worldwide for TEM technology development and applications. He did a lot pioneering work on new TEM functions innovation and promotion.
