Professor Anthony Howe, an English historian and professor specializing in the modern history of economics, got his Ph.D. degree at Oxford University and previously taught at the Department of International Relations at the London School of Economics and Modern History at Oriel College, Oxford. His representatives works are The Cotton Masters (1830-1860, Oxford, 1984), Free Trade and Liberal England (1846-1946, Oxford, 1997) and Battles over Free Trade: the Challenge of Economic Nationalism (1879-1939, New York, 2008).
