Bio:
Tarcisio B. Celestino is Professor of Rock Mechanics and Underground Works at the Department of Geotechnical Engineering, São Carlos Engineering School, University of São Paulo, Brazil. Meanwhile he founds the TE Engineering Consulting Company in Brazil and serves as the general manager. Besides teaching at University of São Paulo, he also supervises his graduate students to conduct research on fields like acoustic emission during the process of jointed rock fracturing, constitutive model and numerical simulation between tunnel sprayed concrete and ground mass, time-dependent property of sprayed concrete, land subsidence resulted from soft ground conventional tunneling, etc. In TE Engineering Consulting Company, he is mainly responsible for the design of large-size geotechnical engineering, such as hydropower station, subway project and so on. He acted as an associate editor of theJournal Tunnelling and Underground Space Technology(TUST) from 2010 to 2015. He is a member of the Editorial Boards of TUST,Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering (RMRE) andEngineering Geology(EG). He has published more than 120 technical and scientific papers in some international journals and conferences.
