Abstract:
Intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) lack stable 3D structure, but still perform key biological functions, including cell signaling and regulation. In this talk, I will introduce our recent work related to IDPs.
(1) We designed the first of its kind method DisoRDPBind to predict the RNA, DNA and protein binding regions mediated by intrinsic disorder.
(2) We proposed a novel method APOD to accurately identify the IDRs which serve as flexible linkers in proteins.
(3) We introduced the intrinsic disorder information to improve the sequence-based prediction on the protein-peptide binding events.
We believe these studies are helpful for understanding the molecular functions of intrinsic disorder.
