Abstract:

Xia Younan is a Distinguished Scholar at the Brock Family Chair and Georgia Rearch Alliance (GRA) at Georgia Institute of Technology. He received a bachelor's degree in chemical physics from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1987, a Master's degree in chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993 (under Prof. Alan G. Macdiarmid), and a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Harvard University in 1996. Professor Xia's team focuses on the design, synthesis and application of novel nanomaterials in the fields of nanomedicine, regenerative medicine, electronics, energy conversion, catalysis, etc. InScience,Nature,Nat.Mater.,Nat.Nanotechnol.,JACS and Angew.Chem.Int.Ed. He has published more than 860 academic papers in international journals, and is ranked among the world's top 10 chemists and materials scientists. His awards include the ACS Creative Award (2023), the MRS Medal (2017), the ACS Materials Chemistry Award (2013), the NIH Dean's Pioneer Award (2006), and NSF CAREER (2000), among others.
