Abstract:
Recent years have witnessed the rapid development of Minkowski type problems for convex bodies (i.e., compact convex subsets with nonempty interiors). Such problems characterize the geometricmeasures derived from various variational formulas of functionals on the set of convex bodies. With additional regularity, to find solutions for Minkowski type problems is equivalent to solve their related Monge-Ampere equations.
A natural question is whether Minkowski type problems can be asked for unbounded convex sets. In this talk, I will present our recent progress on the Minkowski type problems for unbounded convex hypersurfaces. In particular, I will discuss their connections with Monge-Ampere type equations and talk about our solutions to these Minkowski type problems.
