Abstract:
Medical data encompasses a wide range of health-related information derived from regular patient care or clinical trial programs. This includes diverse categories such as multi-modality medical imaging data and electronic health records. With the significant advancements in deep learning over the past decade, the pre-training paradigm has emerged as a transformative approach, particularly in settings with limited annotations. In this seminar, I will discuss our latest research in medical AI, focusing specifically on innovations in medical multimodal pre-training. Our work addresses critical challenges in this area, including the modality gap between different types of medical data and the limited multimodal paired data. We propose novel solutions that enhance the performance of machine learning methods in processing complex, heterogeneous healthcare data. This presentation will highlight the potential of these advancements to improve diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes in the healthcare industry.
