Abstract:
The problem of estimating the smallest singular value of random square matrices is important in connection with matrix computations and analysis of the spectral distribution. In this talk, we first consider recent developments in the study of quantitative invertibility in the i.i.d, and symmetric setting. Then, we will explain the connection between the smallest singular value and the Littlewood Offord problem. Finally, we conclude this talk with a selection of open research problems.
