Abstract:
Intelligent textiles serve as a bridge between the digital world and the physical self, offering advanced functionalities that enhance human interaction with the environment and open up new possibilities across various industries. However, the design of smart textiles presents significant challenges due to the complex, trial-and-error processes involved in integrating functionality while maintaining comfort, durability, and usability. In this talk, I will present several projects I have worked on related to knitting structures, including high-performance simulations with differentiability, an easy-to-use computational fabrication pipeline, and diverse applications ranging from sensing to actuation.
