Abstract:
Artificial Intelligence is transforming from a tool that observes data into one that creates solutions. In the realm of drug discovery, this means moving beyond searching static libraries to active, atom-by-atom generation of novel therapies. This talk introduces the fundamental concepts of Generative AI—from neural networks and transformers to the latest diffusion models—and their specific applications in health informatics. Case studies such as the rapid design of antimicrobial peptides and the identification of antiviral host factors for Influenza A will be presented.
