Most of the cultural relics exhibited in the Shandong University Museum came from the Department of Archaeology, whose faculties and students have excavated these relics in Shandong Province over the last 40 years. 400 relics were chosen as exhibits from more than ten thousand items and arranged according to their age. These relics range from the Neolithic period to the Spring and Autumn period. They are the epitome of time-honored Chinese history. The exhibition is divided into four parts, including the Light of civilization、An Eastern Town on the Map、the Trace of the Kingdom Shi、Achievements of the Archeology Department .

Many precious items including Sherd of Dinggong with Inscription、Egg-shell Cup、Oracle Bone、Bronze Ding Tripod、 Bronze He、Bronze Stand、Jade Figure Head、Jade Ge、Jade Necklace are on display.
