Ou Boqian, Secretary-General of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat, visited the Qingdao campus of Shandong University (SDU) on June 9.
Han Shenghao, Vice-President of SDU and President of the Qingdao campus, met with Ou and her delegation, and signed a memorandum of understanding.
During the signing ceremony, Han stated that SDU has a good tradition of exchange and cooperation with Japanese and South Korean universities. He noted that a three-dimensional cooperation framework has been formed in student education, scholar visits, scientific research, cultural exchange and think tank research. He also expressed hope that SDU will further strengthen cooperation through the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat to train international talents.
Ou then introduced the achievements and plans of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat in enhancing cooperation between Japanese, South Korean and Chinese universities in terms of academic and cultural exchanges and short-term student internships.
She also gave a speech titled Cooperation between China, Japan, and South Korea in the New Situation at the Qingdao campus.
The Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat is an international organization established with the approval of the governments of the three countries. It was officially established in Seoul, South Korea, in September 2011, and aims at bolstering peace and universal prosperity.
