The School of Foreign Languages and Literature at Shandong University (SDU) recently marked a grand culmination of its 16th Foreign Languages Festival, dovetailed with a memorable graduation evening. A high-energy opener, Kitsch-IVE, signified the commencement.
The evening was conceptually divided into four chapters, each embodying a unique narrative. The first chapter painted an artistic tableau of Chinese culture, deftly combined with the traditional attired catwalk spectacle of China and soulful renditions of the songs In the Water and Chi Ling.

The second chapter celebrated linguistic diversity and youthful vigor. Among the highlights were the famed musical The Sound of Music performed by students, a multilingual choir's rendition of Little Fortune, and a Japanese dub of Correct Answer, imbuing the scene with international charm.
Reflecting on memorable times, the third chapter exhibited the unity of the Business English class through a dance medley, emphasizing friendship and modern artistic excellence.
The concluding chapter underscored a compelling notion - graduation does not signify an end, but rather, heralds an exhilaratingly fresh commencement. This sentiment dominated the evening's closing moments, embodied in performances of Unparalleled Beauty, the dance Thirsty, and the choral showpiece Wanting to Travel.
The evening party concluded on a nostalgic note as attendees joined in a harmonious rendition of My SDU, My Home, a fitting finale to an event celebrating cultural integrity, linguistic diversity, and youthful aspirations.
