Four candidates qualified for the next stage of the competition in the domestic foreign student category of the fourth "Stories of China Retold in English" Challenge, which was held at Shandong University on May 16.
The event invited young people from both home and abroad to share Chinese stories in English through recitations, speeches, dramatic monologues, and art performances, aimed to help them learn about Chinese culture and facilitate global exchanges.
The competition not only provided a platform for language exchange and cultural integration for both Chinese and international students, but also served as an opportunity to promote Chinese culture and enhance mutual understanding between civilizations, said Wang Lulu, deputy secretary of the College of International Education at Shandong University.
She said she hoped that international students could gain a deeper understanding of China through the competition and become global ambassadors of traditional Chinese culture.
