Beautiful Scenery and Places of Interest
Shandong University comprises campuses in three different cities (Jinan, Qingdao and Weihai), covering an area of over 533 hectares. By travelling to different campuses, students can enjoy different landscapes, such as natural springs in Jinan, swimming in the sea at Qingdao and Weihai, and climbing Mount Lao in Qingdao, where you can find the co-existence of Taoism and Buddhism. Shandong Province, the very home of Shandong University, is the birthplace of Confucius. After a 30-minute train ride to Qufu, the hometown of Confucius, you can visit the Confucius Mansion, Temple, and Cemetery, where China's traditional culture and long-established values are on full display.
Easy Transportation
Shandong is a coastal province in eastern China, boasting an unparalleled capacity of integrated air, sea, rail and road transportation. Jinan and Qingdao are key interchange stations for national railway traffic and are connected to large and medium-sized Chinese cities via the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway, Beijing-Kowloon Railway, Jinan-Qingdao Railway, etc. High-speed trains cut the trips to Beijing and Shanghai from Jinan, the provincial capital, to 1.5 hours and 4 hours respectively. Qingdao and Weihai are also easily accessible from the sea. Those three cities have air service links to Frankfurt, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Bangkok, Singapore and other international destinations.
