On the afternoon of November 5th, Prof. Li Defeng from University of London, UK gave an academic lecture to the students of School of Translation Studies on Sense-making in Corpus-assisted Translation Studies. The lecture was chaired by Prof. Wang Xiangyun, Dean of School of Translation Studies.
Prof. Wang first extended his warm welcome to Prof. Li and then briefly introduced the academic achievements of Prof.Li.

During the lecture, Prof. Li explained the meaning of Corpus- assisted Translation Studies and the key issues of Corpus-assisted Translation Studies, including the general characters of translation, styles of the translator, features of translation version, and interpretation. He also elaborated the construction, processing and the instruments of Corpus as well as the status of Corpus-assisted Translation Studies.
The lecture, well-structured with reasonable contents and strong academic nature, was warmly welcomed by the teachers and students present, who said that after the lecture, they had a better understanding of Corpus-assisted Translation Studies and how to do academic research.
