On the afternoon of September 21, Australian Studies Center, SDUW held a launching ceremony in Peking University for Prof. Zhang Wei’s academic monograph: W.H Donald Files: Adventure of an Australian in Modern China, hosted by Prof. David Walker, academician of Academy of the Social Sciences, Australia and attended by over 100 scholars and over 20 news media from both China and Australia.
The book, first published in Chinese, tells the story of an Australian journalist who used to exert great impact on the politics of the Republic of China (1912-1949) with his wisdom and efforts.
The book was highly praised by Frances Adamson, the incumbent Australian ambassador to China as well as the scholars from both countries for its great contribution to the culture exchange and friendship between China and Australia. Australian Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) and The Sydney Morning Herald (SMH) are going to publish an exclusive interview of Prof. Zhang at the end of this week.
