Recently, 6 junior students from the School of Life Science and 5 sophomore students from Taishan School of Shandong University passed the assessment and were selected as members for the summer internship program “Swedish Nature”.

These undergraduate students will go to Sweden for a three-weeks internship in July during which they will go on field trips and conduct experimental research about Swedish nature. The program is organized by the Biology Education Centre of Uppsala University. Fifty-one students from Shandong University, Nanjing University, Nankai University, Sichuan University and Yunnan University applied for the program, and 28 students were awarded the opportunity. Shandong University had the highest number of short-listed students.

Founded in 1477, Uppsala University is a world-famous university and also the oldest university in Sweden. Uppsala University provides education in many highly regarded disciplines such as ecology, bioinformatics and biomedical fields, and its alumni enjoy an excellent reputation. The world-famous botanist, founder of the binomial nomenclature, Carl von Linne graduated from Uppsala University.
