The School of Control Science and Engineering of Shandong University (SDU) received awards at the Sixth National Biomedical Engineering Innovative Design Contest, bagging one First Prize (Directed by Prof. Ke Li), one Second Prize (Directed by Prof. Ke Li), and one Third Prize (Directed by Prof. Xinpei Wang) in various categories.
SDU's award-winning teams, which is comprised of undergraduate students majoring inBiomedical Engineering, competed against teams from other universities, some of which fielded graduate students. The wins reflect the high standard of SDU's interdisciplinary teaching in biomedical engineering studies.
Held since 2014, the National Biomedical Engineering Innovative Design Contest is aimed at boosting innovation and the development of biomedical engineering, developing students' practical skills, and fostering greater levels of collaboration,whichis now the highest-level national scientific and innovative competition in the field of biomedical engineering.
This year, the contest attracted 2,119 undergraduates and graduates from 156 universities, including Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Southeast University, and Xi'an Jiaotong University etc., with totally 779 submitted projects.
