Shandong University teams won three first-place and one second-place prizes in the National University Students Intelligent Car Race (Outdoor), which concluded on Dec 26, 2021, ranking first among universities nationwide.

The first-place prizes were awarded to two teams from the School of Control Science and Engineering and one team from the School of Information Science and Engineering, while the second-place prize was given to one team from the School of Control Science and Engineering.

SDU participants worked day and night during the preparation period for the competition and continued to improve the structure and algorithms of their cars.

Held by the Chinese Association of Automation, this year's competition attracted 256 teams from 151 universities across the country. It is the very first outdoor, which requires stronger innovation and practical abilities.

The competition aims to boost the quality-oriented education among higher-education institutions and cultivate talent with innovative capabilities.
