Shandong University (SDU) held a future science camp event online from Jan 28 to Feb 5.
A total of 834 students from 352 middle schools across the country applied for the event, among which, 392 students were selected to study in different sub-camps.
Students completed training in prototyping, essay writing, and communication in the AIOT related project which was an innovation and practical training camp for AIOT (artificial intelligence and the internet of things). Students also improved their ability to think creatively and apply their knowledge in a variety of situations.
The AI and creation camp included classes such as programming principles and the internet of things technology to help students improve their ability to study independently and innovate.
Students at the physics exploration camp learned how to develop experimental routes, build experimental equipment, measure and analyze experimental data, summarize physics concepts, and complete trainings for innovative experimental exploration.
Electronic circuit design students learned digital circuit design methods, used EDA (electronic design automation) to build software, and designed electronic circuits and hardware devices on the FPGA (field programmable gate array) hardware platform independently.
On Feb 5, representatives from each camp gave presentations on their research findings.
Since 2018, SDU has held future science camp programs for middle school students, with the goal of improving students' overall abilities.
The program helps students improve their learning skills and creativity while also encouraging them to investigate the future world and technology.
