Shandong University (SDU) team won first prize at the 9th Chinese National Round of International Criminal Court (ICC) Moot Court Competition (English Edition)thatwas held from March 26 to 27, and qualified for theinternational final competition in May.
Aiming to improve students' abilities in using legal terminology in English and international law, the ICC moot court competition attracted law students from over 50 universities across the country.
Participants of the SDUteamhave been preparing for the competition since May 2021, honing legal documents writing skills and court debating abilities.
They wrote approximately 40,000 words in three memorials for the prosecution, defense, and victims, and entered the court defense round with the seventh highest cumulative score among the participating teams.
With competitors from China University of Political Science and Law, East China University of Political Science and Law, Tsinghua University, and University of International Business and Economics, the SDU team performed impressively in four court defenses.
