The First Fun Orienteering Race was held at Shandong University's (SDU) Qianfoshan Campus on April 23, attracting over 500 graduate students.
Students from the eight schools including the School of Electrical Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Qilu Transportation, School of Civil Engineering, School of Material Science and Engineering, School of Control Science and Engineering, School of Energy and Power Engineering, and the School of Physical Education formed 84 teams to compete in the race, which contained more than 10 events such as table tennis relay, jumping rope, puzzles, and soccer shoot-out.
Participants formed groups of six and had to follow set routes to complete all the programs. The team with the shortest time won.
The race helped relieve students' stress from studying and researching during the closed-loop management of the campus, enhanced communication between schools, promoted students' active participation in sports, and further improved students' exploration abilities and teamwork.
