On March 11th, a seminar was held at SDU to discuss issues related to fulfilling the tasks raised in the SDU Internationalization Strategy. The strategy aims to further strengthen international cooperation and communication by 2015.

In Vice-President Zhang Yun's speech, Zhang emphasized the importance of developing SDU into a worldclass university. The realization of SDU's internationalization strategy remains one of the top priorities on the university's agenda for the next 5 years; currently there are 10 development goals and 7 action plans being undertaken.

Tong Guangwu, Director of the International Office, made a speech titled "Internationalization, the Internal Demand of Building a World Class University". Tong explained how to promote the internationalization of teaching staff, courses offered, scientific research, campus life and other areas in accordance with the SDU Internationalization Strategy.

In addition, project coordinators from the SDU International Office attended the seminar and answered some

frequently asked questions related to international exchange and cooperation.

Nearly 200 secretaries, deans, and representatives from various schools, research institutes, and offices attended the seminar.
