Mr. Hiroshi Matsuda, Vice President of Yamaguchi University, visited the School of Economics at Shandong University (SDU-SE) on March 1st. Prof. Shiroshita Kengo from the Institute of Economics at Yamaguchi University, Ogawa Keizo, the Director of School of Economics at Yamaguchi University and, other two professors from the Institute of Science and Technology at Yamaguchi University, accompanied Mr. Matsuda on his visit. The Executive Vice Dean of SDU-SE, Hu Jinyan, and Prof. Zhang Naili, the head of Research Center for Japanese Economy, met with the guests on SDU’s central campus. Some scholars from the School of Physics and School of Environmental Science and Engineering at SDU attended the meeting as well.
Yamaguchi University visited SDU-SE twice in 2011, once in June and once in October. During the previous visits, the two sides had a lively discussion and exchanged ideas on the joint-training of the postgraduate students and doctoral students, and eventually decided to recruit postgraduate students from SDU-SE as the first step, and gradually expand the scope of the collaboration.
This time, the two sides discussed the details of the postgraduate students’ admission policies, including the application requirements, registration processes, recommend materials and interviews. If the collaboration between the two sides goes smoothly, students from SDU-SE (including double degree students) will be expected to study postgraduate degrees at Yamaguchi University in autumn 2013.
