On February 29th, the 2012 Shandong University Explanation Sessions of Overseas Study Program were jointly hosted by SDU International Office, Office of Educational Administration, Graduate School, and Department of Student Affairs.
The first session was held in the Lecture Hall on Xinglongshan Campus, followed by the second one held in the lecture hall of Run Run Shaw Science Building on the Central Campus. According to the plan, the sessions will also be held successively on other campuses (including the Weihai Branch).
This series of Explanation Sessions is one of the activities launched by SDU to implement the plan of “Internationalization Strategy by 2015”,

and further pushed forward the education model of "3 Acrosses+4 Experiences". The "3 Acrosses" refers to the practice that SDU offers students the opportunity of studying across the schools, across the campuses and across countries. The "4 Experiences" refers to the students' SDU campus experience, the second campus experience, the overseas experience and the social practice experience.
This year, SDU will intensify its efforts to enlarge the Overseas Study Program, strengthen the cooperation with famous universities aboard, gradually improve the managerial system of the overseas study program, and provide more opportunities for students to study aboard.

the Deputy Director of the International Office of SDU. During the meeting, the representative from the International Office made a thorough introduction of all the existing Overseas Study Programs and the preparations needed to be done by students who are inclined to participate in these programs. Then the representative from the Office of Educational Administration explained related policies and all the necessary processes and documents for study abroad.
Representative from the Graduate School Office introduced the combined training programs of the postgraduates and programs sponsored by the China Scholarship Council, and answered questions raised by students.
Representative from the Department of Student Affairs of SDU reminded students of the laws and regulations they must obey during their time overseas study, and explained the requirements of obtaining study abroad scholarships.
During the session, students who have returned from their overseas study shared their feelings and observations with other students attending.
