The delegation of Ochanomizu University headed by its Vice-president Hiroaki Mimizuka visited Shandong University on March 10. Lou Hongxiang, Vice-president of SDU, met with them on Baotuquan Campus. Relevant officials of the School of Public Health at SDU attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Lou extended his welcome to the delegation of Hiroaki Mimizuka and briefed them on the history and recent developments of SDU. Lou stated that the visit was an opportunity to combine the positive characteristics of the two universities. Lou also expressed his hope to promote a deeper and wider cooperation on teaching, scientific research, student education, and discipline construction between the two universities in the coming years.
Hiroaki Mimizuka introduced the general information, characteristics and mission of Ochanomizu University, and likewise expressed his hope to further strengthen the cooperation with Shandong University and promote the academic development of the two sides. The two sides then consulted with each other on the signing details of the cooperation agreement between the two universities.
During the visit, the delegation led by Hiroaki Mimizuka also visited each campus of SDU.
Ochanomizu University traces its roots back to 1875 with the founding of Tokyo Women’s Normal School. In 1949, it was established as Ochanomizu University with a new system of education. Ever since its foundation in 1875, Ochanomizu’s educational programs have focused on the development of exceptional female leaders who have the ability to master advanced, specialized knowledge, and to break new ground as active participants in society.
