On April 16th, a delegation from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)-Asian branch visited Civil Engineering School (CES) at Shandong University. The members of the delegation include the General Manager in China Mr. Li Gang, the Zonal Developing Manager in China Ms. Zhou Jing, and a Senior Fellow of RICS, the General Manager of Shandong Zhonghe Real Estate Appraisal Co., Ltd. Mr. Li Jianyu. The International affairs secretary of CES Dr. Li Yong and Dr. Li Zhenjia from the Hydraulic Engineering Department of CES received the guests from RICS.

During the discussions, Dr. Li Yong expressed his warm welcome to the RICS delegation on behalf of the Dean of CES Prof. Li Shucai and made a brief introduction of the college’s history, faculty and staff, major constitution, student cultivation and scientific research. Following this introduction, Ms. Zhou Jing then introduced the practical cooperation between RICS and some top universities in China, and expressed deeply her hope to establish a long-term cooperation with CES, Shandong University. Finally, a preliminarily decision was made to establish cooperation on Building Survey, City Planning and Development, project management and so on. In the cooperation RICS would provide a RICS-member education and training platform for CES, Shandong University.

RICS has 180,000 members globally and represents, regulates and promotes the work of property professionals throughout 146 regions and countries. It is one of the most respected and high profile global standard and membership organizations for professionals involved in land, valuation, real estate, construction and environmental issues.
