Professor Chen Zhe from the Energy Research Center of Aalborg University of Denmark gave a report organized by Professor Han Xueshan entitled asCurrent Research Development of Power System and Wind Generationto the students of the School of Electrical Engineering at Shandong University.

The report introduced the teaching model of the Aalborg University, Professor Chen’s research fields, and the China-Denmark research center. Within the report the problem based learning teaching model is proved the most impressive. Professor Chen then introduced the development of wind generation. He highlighted wind power research history, wind power practice and the correlation with the industry of Aalborg. At last, Professor Chen introduced the development of the key tech of modern wind generation as well as new energy sources.

The students got a lot from Professor Chen’s report. After the report, Professor Chen discussed with the students about the correlation problems.

Professor Chen previously studied and worked at the University of Durham, De Montfort University, Staffordshire University, and the University of Birmingham. He is now a professor at Aalborg University. He is a renowned expert in wind generation, power system, power electronics, and electrical machine. He is also a Master and PhD supervisor in several universities in the United Kingdom, Denmark, China, India, and Sweden. He is the chief wind energy expert of the China-Denmark research center, an associate editor of IEEE transaction on power electronics (renewable energy) and an invited editor of IEEE transaction on power electronics (power electronics on wind conversion). He is a senior number of IET, IEEE. He is also a committee member of many international conferences.
