On March 3, a five-member delegation headed by Hwang Seung-hyun, Consul-General of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Qingdao, paid a visit to Shandong University. Zhang Rong, President of SDU, met with the guests. Lou Hongxiang, Vice President of SDU, also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Zhang gave a brief introduction on the current development of Shandong University and expressed his gratitude for the contribution made by Hwang in promoting the education and cultural exchange between SDU and ROK.
Zhang said that SDU has established friend relations with about 20 universities and research institutions in ROK and has carried out many academic and student exchange activities.
He expressed his hope that Hwang would continue to support the exchange and cooperation between SDU and ROK, especially in developing more cooperation in the fields of Confucianism discipline, marine science, and internships in enterprise with colleges and universities as well as enterprises in ROK.
Hwang expressed his gratitude for SDU cultivating and caring for South Korean students over the years and said hoped developed more exchange projects to promoting understand and supporting on both sides. The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Qingdao also will do their best to promoting exchange and cooperation actively between the both sides’ colleges and universities.
Officials from the Department of International Affairs of SDU also attended the meeting.
