On March 13, a twenty-member delegation led by Kim Gwang-lim, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea (ROK), visit Shandong University. Zhang Rong, President of SDU, met with the guests. Chen Yan, Vice President of SDU, attended the related activities.
Zhang Rong welcomed the visit of Kim Gwang-lim and had a talk with the delegation. He stated that SDU has attached great importance to communication and exchanges with ROK and set up the Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies and the Institute of Korea Studies and other research institutions to gain rich research achievements.
Zhang expressed his hope that Kim would continue to support the cooperation in the fields of the Confucianism, traditional East Asian culture, marine science, and internship in enterprise for overseas student to acquire new success between SDU and South Korean colleges and universities, research institutions and enterprises.
Kim thanked SDU for a warm reception during his visit and said that SDU has close relations of cooperation and exchanges with ROK and even played an important role in China-ROK educational exchange. He will continue to support and promote the further cooperation between SDU and ROK in the future.
During their visit, both sides also had a talk on the Confucian studies and South Korean studies of SDU. Officials from SDU’s International Affairs Department, Advanced Institute of Confucian Studies, as well as School of Korean Studies attended the related activities.
