On April 11, approximately 80 Southeast Asian students studying at Shandong University, Shandong Normal University and China University of Petroleum celebrated their traditional New Year at the International Students Complex on the central campus of SDU along with teachers and students from SDU.

To welcome the traditional New Year, students prepared traditional food and gave wonderful performances from their respective countries. Wearing traditional costumes, students tied white lines of blessings for each other and cheerfully performed the folk dance, with all the participants. Joyous music and heartfelt wishes promoted cultural communication, enhanced friendships and created wonderful memories for everyone in attendance.
