Recently, the CEO of the American Intravenous Infusion Nursing Society (INS) Mary Alexander, and the president of the American Vascular Access Association (AVA), Mark Rowe, visited Qilu Hospital of Shandong University. The Vice-president of Qilu Hospital, Chen Yuguo, the Nursing Department, Intravenous Infusion Nursing Croup and PICC nurses attended the conference.
Chen Yuguo welcomed the American experts and thanked the BD company, who supported the academic exchange program. The meeting was chaired by the Director of Nursing Department Luan Xiaorong.

Subsequently, the delegates of Intravenous Infusion Nursing Group and PICC nurses communicated with the American experts about surveillance and prevention of catheter-related bloodstream infections, peripheral intravenous infusion management, risk management of intravenous infusion and so forth. They exchanged thoughts concerning their clinical experience and discussed safety issues concerning infusion therapy from domestic and worldwide.
The conference provided authoritative guidance to our nurses on the latest international protocols, standards and clinical practice measurements about infusion therapy. The platform of communication built by top foreign experts will surely encourage our infusion nursing care to be more specialized, advanced and evidence-based.
