From August 10 to 14, more than 3,100 industrial and applied mathematicians from over 70 countries and regions attended the Eighth International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics. On behalf of the Chinese government, Chinese Vice-President Li Yuanchao expressed warmly welcome to scientists, industrial experts, and delegates from all over the world.
Being officially invited by the organizing committee of International Industrial and Applied Mathematics, Academician of Chinese Academy of Science, and SDU professor Peng Shige, gave a one-hour report entitled Covering the Uncertainty of Distributions by Nonlinear Expectation, Nonlinear PDE and BSDE in the meeting.
The award won by Peng followed the invitation of a one-hour report in the International Congress of Mathematicians in 2010 (IMC2010), and Peng became the first Chinese mathematician with those honors simultaneously.
Prof. Peng's report clearly showed that Chinese mathematicians have made leading international achievements in the industrial and applied mathematics field. And Peng no doubt has become an international leader mathematician in the field of industrial and applied mathematics.
The International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM) is the premier international congress in the field of the industrial and applied mathematics, held every four years.
