The 22nd International Congress of Historical Sciences (ICHS), the most influential academic activity of historical sciences, will be held in Jinan, Shandong province from August 23 to 29, for the first time the Congress to be held in Asia.

The logo of the Congress consists of auspicious cloud, chariot and horses of the Han Dynasty, ICHS and 2015 JINAN CHINA. The auspicious cloud represents the Chinese elements, the chariot and horses of the Han Dynasty implies the wheel of history, while the ICHS is the acronym of the International Congress of Historical Sciences and 2015 JINAN CHINA indicates when and where the congress will be held.

The color of the logo is cinnabar red, which is also the color of the wall of the Imperial Palace and the main color of Shandong University. It is a symbol of Chinese people's appreciation to auspiciousness and all beautiful things, and it also represents Chinese people鈥檚 blessing and hospitality for the congress.

Marjatta Hietala, president of ICHS said the logo was so amazing that she had never seen a logo as beautiful as the one of the 22nd ICHS.
