With the publication of the Annual Ranking of China’s Best Hospitals (2015) and the Best Medical Specialties of Chinese Hospitals (2015), the list of Top 100 Best Hospitals and Top 37 Best Medical Disciplines in China were released by Fudan University in Shanghai this November.

According to the evaluation, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University ranked No.1 in Shandong Province, No.3 in Eastern China and No.20 in China. It came 24th in terms of overall strength of medical specialties and scored 6th on the basis of scientific research nationwide. 6 medical specialties of Qilu Hospital entered the Best Medical Specialties List and 10 were nominated.

Among the 6 medical specialties of Qilu Hospital on the Best Medical Specialties List, Emergency Medicine ranked No.5 nationwide, Rehabilitation Medicine No.6, Obstetrics and Gynecology No.8, Laboratory Medicine No.9, Hematology No.9, and Neurosurgery No.10. Besides, Pathology, Otorhinolaryngology, Rheumatology, General Surgery, Endocrinology, Neurology, Gastroenterology，Cardiovasology，Gerontics, and Ultrasonic Medicine were nominated. Qilu Hospital came top in Shandong Province with respect to comprehensive strength, number of best medical specialties and medical specialties nominated.

It is learned that since 2010 the Hospital Management Institute of Fudan University publishes the Ranking of China’s Best Hospitals and the Best Medical Specialties of Chinese Hospitals every year. As a public welfare project carried out by an independent third-party academic institution of hospital management, it is conducive to the development of medical discipline in hospitals for the benefit of people as well as the enhancement of their reputation at home and abroad.

The ranking is evaluated through peer review by 3969 medical experts specializing in 28 different clinical fields from Chinese Medical Association and Chinese Medical Doctor Association. Discipline construction, clinical technology and medical quality, and scientific research level are weighed to select Top 10 hospitals in respective professional fields.
